Big Brother 11

Do you watch Big Brother? I love this show. What are your thoughts so far about the clicks? I think it will make it interesting. Who's your favorite so far? I think just starting my choice is Lydia. She seems down to earth and seems like a nice person. I may change my mind later on but that's who I'm routing for right now. In case you forgot who Lydia is, she's the one with all the tatoos.

I really didn't want Jesse coming back into the house. I was hoping Jessica or Cowboy was going to win that chance. Do you have or ever had in the past live feed? Was wondering how much it is and if it's worth it. I've been thinking about getting it. Anyone have it?

Thursday Thunks- Bringing scratch & sniff stickers to your graduation party

Another Thursday Thunks

Bringing scratch & sniff stickers to your graduation party

Welcome to the July 9th version of Thursday Thunks!

(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Berleen, the number 141 and the color of your underwear.

1. Do you tend to have a guilty conscious? Depends on what it is.

2. Do you still have your wisdom teeth? No, just got them out last year.

3. Peanut Butter - creamy or crunchy? Creamy

4. Get up off your butt. Take 5 steps. Which leg did you start out on? Right

5. What color is your favorite kitchen utensil? Don't really have a favorite. I'd rather go out to eat but can't do that all the time.

6. Did you watch the Michael Jackson memorial/funeral? Yes, it was sad to see a great singer/dancer gone. Even sadder to see how broken up his children were. I love the new song they were showing that he was going to do on his tour. I forget the name of it though.

7. Do you know anyone who graduated from high school this year? No
Were you invited to their graduation party? Did you go?

8. White with black stripes or black with white stripes? Since I love skunks, I will have to say black with white stripes.

9. If we were to call your 6th grade teacher, what would they say about you? I loved taking a home type class where we got to cook for the teachers. I don't really like to cook now though. Where did I go wrong?

10. Can you draw a perfect circle? No, Is it mandatory?

11. What was your favorite scratch & sniff sticker scent? Strawberry

12. What does your sibling do for a living? I have a brother who I don't see much of and he works in a factory. My sister is a manager at a store. She'd rather be on a horse farm. Here's her two horses. Their names are Spot short for Spotted Dream Catcher and Merlin short for Merlin the Magician. I'm am sure you can guess which was is called Spot.

Here's a tribute photo I did for one of her husband's cousin who died last year. He loved her horses, drove truck, always wore hats, and was a veteran in the war.

13. How many light switches and electrical outlets are in the room that you are in right now? Three

14. Do you know sign language? I did take a sign language course about two years ago. But, I'm far from being able to talk to someone who does signing all the time. I know some words and the letters but you'd have to talk to me slowly.

15. Do you step on cracks in the sidewalk? Yes, unless my grandson tells me not to.

16. And the sheets on your bed look like....? They are plain but I have 400 thread count one's on right now. They are soft.

17. What is something that everyone else has, but you don't? Well, not everyone has one but some of my scrapbook friends have a cricut for scrapbooking and I want one.

Questions copied from their blog and to see more answers go to the Thursday Thunks site.

Thursday Thirteen -13 of My Favorite Books

In no particular order, 13 of my favorite books. I only put a very brief description here but if you go to my Barb's goodreads you can see my full review of these books.

1. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. About an older man in a nursing home remembering back when he was working with the circus.
2. True Colors by Kristin Hannah. About three sisters, their struggles and owning a horse farm.
3. The Fairlawn Series by Angela Hunt. The first book is called Doesn't She Look Natural. Three books about a women who gets inherited a funeral home.
(I just discovered Angela Hunt and am loving her books and writing.)
4. The Scarlet Thread by Francine Rivers. Two women, two different time periods but very much alike.
5. Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill. A heart shaped box gets delivered with a suit inside that haunts someone. A ghostly tale.
6. Against Medical Advice by James Patterson and Hal Friedman. A wonderful look and better understanding into Tourette's Syndrome.
7. The Penny by Joyce Meyer. A book about the struggles of two children when whites and blacks at the time weren't allowed to play together.
8. The Next Level by David Gregory. This is a book to see what getting to the next level will bring when you believe in God.
9. A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. Walk along the Mid-State Trail with two older men and see how they survive each other.
10. A Can of Peas, Aprons on a Clothesline and Dandelions in a Jelly Jar, A series of books by Traci DePree. Traci makes you feel like your right there with the family living in a small town.
11. Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. The book goes back and forth between Henry growing up in 1942 and then much later in 1986. It's also about a love story between a Chinese boy and a Japanese girl who grew up together in a time when they weren't allowed to be together.
12. Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult. A prisoner murders one daughter and wants to give his heart to the sister. I also read Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult, a good book also.
13. Scrapbook Page Maps by Becky Fleck. Had to throw in one about scrapbooking because this is the best scrapbook book I've gotten in a long while. I like that it has cards in the back with the sketches on that you can tear out of the book and take along with you to crops.

If you want to add me to your goodreads list or just to see more reviews of books I've read and books on my to read list go here: Barb's goodreads

If you belong to goodreads, leave your url and I'll add you to my list.

Hold The Knob, Wear Clean Shoes And Enjoy The Insanity!

Welcome to the July 2nd version of Thursday Thunks!

(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Kimber, the number 14 and the color of your mother's hair dye.

1. When you close a door, do you close it quick and just let it slam or do you hold the knob and slowly shut it tight? I pull it shut and make sure it's closed tight but I do not slam it.

2.Train A is moving at 60 miles an hour. Train B is moving at 22 miles an hour. They will pass each other at X time. Now what color shoes are you wearing when train A derails? Probably tan. Does it really matter if it derails?

3. What if M&M's grew on trees? What color M&M tree would you have? Blue

4. How many petals on a flower does it take to make it the perfect bloom? Not sure. I'll guess 8 but do you know?

5. I took you to spend $421.67 on you, what did we spend that money on? Scrapbooking supplies. Woo Hoo!

6. If you were a squash, what type of squash would you be? zucchini

7. Have you ever gotten a wrong number call and ended up talking to the person for longer than 5 minutes? No

8. Why haven't you joined Berleen & Kimber at Insanity Cafe yet? Do we stink? Not sure. Guess I've been doing Thursday Thunks and didn't think to look around more. I will check it out.

9. Now for one of Ber's questions back when TT was brand new... Shampoo bottles say lather, rinse, repeat... do you? No.

10. It's July, the year is half over. Do you see it as "whew that part is over" or best is yet to come? Best is yet to come.

11. Why do you do the Thursday Thunks meme? It's goofy and fun. I love to see what other people write.

Hey, and while your here, take a look below at my first attempt at a camera video I did. Let me know what you think.

Obstacle Course

video
This is my first attempt to post a camera video on here. Hope you enjoy it. This is an obstacle course my husband set up for our grandson. He loved it. At the end it sounds like I said three seconds but I met to say 30 seconds. In reality it's 59 seconds. I really wasn't sure how many seconds it was, I was just trying to keep up with recording.

Thursday Thirteen and Tuesday's Tip Jar - Photo Opportunities

Posting this for Thursday Thirteen and Tuesday's Tip Jar...

Here's some ideas on taking photos when your bored taking the same old, same old. I posted some of these ideas on a message board that I came up with to do something different in your scrapbooks. Good for groups, family gatherings, weddings, anytime.

1. Take a group shot. Make sure your in a few of those photos.

2. Try to capture tender moments between couples or children.

3. Take a few photos of the food.

4. Don't forget the drinks.

5. At reunions or other gatherings take a photo of games the children and adults do and write a little bit about them. Take a photo of handheld games to or ones connected to the TV. They will be extinct later and it would be fun to see them. Remember Atari?

6. Take a photo of the weather outside that day and journal on your page how the weather affected the mood of the party or not at all if that's the case.

7. Take a photo of different people's shoes and do a page saying guess which relative shoes these are and then on the opposite page make a hidden number page with a flap to cover the answers so everyone can read them. (Make sure you write on a piece of paper what number they are on your camera so when you get them developed you know.)

8. How about go around and ask what hobby everyone likes. Then take a photo of their hands and list the hobby that those hands create. You could do a guessing game page of the hands instead of shoes the same way.

9. Ask the adults what they wanted to be when they were kids and do stories about those. For the children, ask them what they want to be when they grown up. That way you get them both in.

10. Go around and ask everyone what they remember about the grandmother or gr. grandmother and write stories about that. If gram is still alive, ask what they like best about her. Could do one for grandfather to.

11. How about taking photos of their hair? Blank out the faces on your computer, and do a guessing page about who's hair style that is. That would be funny later on.

12. Take a photo of something related to what's going on in the news that day and scrapbook about that. Tell your news of the day on one side and the other page tell about what the news is around the world or in your local area.

Here's one more that someone else thought of on the message board.

13. For a group picture, try to get ABOVE the crowd, on a ladder or something. Have everyone look up at you--a different perspective!

Thursday Thunks - Milk might be on the science test

Questions copied from their blog and to see more answers go to the Thursday Thunks site.

Milk might be on the science test

Welcome to the June 24th version of Thursday Thunks!

(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the number 1559 and the color calico.

1. Someone knocks at your door. You answer it. It's a kid from the local school selling candy bars for a fundraiser. Do you buy one? Yep, probably would buy two or three.

2. The end of the world is tomorrow and you are out of milk - do you go buy some?
If someone wants to drink some, yes I would go buy it.

3. Have you ever picked up the phone and called someone that you hadn't talked to in years? Yes

4. Whats on your computer desktop background? I just changed it recently and have a picture of an Alpaca.

5. What was the very first movie you saw in a movie theater?
Wow, not sure. "Saturday Night Fever" with John Travolta is all I can think of. I was a young teen then. I can't remember my parents ever taking me to the movies when I was a kid but maybe they did.

6. If you had to take a 10th grade science test, do you think you would pass? Maybe not sure. Depends on the questions I guess.

7. Describe heaven. Pure, beautiful, no stress, peaceful.

8. Has a place that you lived ever been infested with some sort of insect or rodent?
Not that I know of, I've seen ants or spiders here and there. I had a opossum in a place I used to live one time. Somehow it got in the house. Someone came and removed it unharmed and released it back in the woods.

9. When you were a youngin', did you hide in the clothes racks at department stores?
Yes, and my mom would get really mad.

10. Is there anything in your vehicle that is broken? Not that I know of. Just had to get a new battery yesterday.

11. What is something in your house that people would be surprise to find? Most people are surprised that I collect skunk stuff.

12. Do you agree with the death penalty? Depends on the how bad the nature of the crime was.

13. Whats your favorite type of bear? gummi bear

14. Where was the last place you went? To the grocery store.

15. What if that person knocking at your door earlier was an adult selling candy bars... would you buy one? Yes, if for a good cause.

Pet Pride

A new meme was created last week and to see more posts, click here: Pet Pride

My son's dog just fathered nine puppies last week. Here's only a couple of them.

Here's the father of these puppies when he was just little.

If your here to see my Camera Critters, go my other blog, click here: Barb's photo-a-day I posted some Alcapas and a site if you want to learn more about them.

My word of 2009 is...

Declutter. Everyone has been picking a word that best describes them or their goal for this year. A word that speaks out at you. So, I am planning on getting rid of all the clutter to simplify my life.

Scrapbooking Page Goal for 2009

Goal: 300 pages. This means I have to average 25 pages a month to reach my goal. This sounds doable to me. Anyone else up for the challenge? Completed: 47
